What it was?

21st December 1988, Pan Am flight 103. All full and ready to go the plane is almost full with passengers, this was a long 12 hour flight so to keep the plane going, they had 2 stop overs one at London Heathrow Airport and one at John F. Kennedy international airport. They would then have reached their destination at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

In 2002 Mr Abdel Baset Al-Megrahi was boarding a commercial jetliner and flying to freedom, this was because doctors knew that he was dying of prostate cancer and released on passionate grounds by Scotland Yard Police, eventually dies of prostate cancer.

On the 5th of April 1999 he was captured and convicted of murder and sentenced to a life imprisonment.

20th May 2012 Al-Megrahi died nearly three years after his release.
